Dear friends, We hope you enjoyed a Happy Women’s History Month! As a women-founded and women-led organization, JET was–and is–built through the relentless commitment, creativity, and visionary leadership of women educators. We invite you to learn more about the women behind JET, and their own journeys into education–and hope you’ll join us in celebrating the collective impact of women on classrooms and communities everywhere. We are proud to announce that JET was recently awarded a $125K Diversifying the Educator Workforce Grant by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE). We are thrilled to apply these funds towards professional learning opportunities, technology, and last-mile financial support for our talented paraeducators, and are grateful to count DESE as a continued partner in this work. There’s even more cause for celebration: we are delighted to share that 50+ dedicated paraeducators are projected to join our community this spring–the largest cohort in JET’s history! Our staff had the pleasure of getting to know these amazing educators in their interviews, where their remarkable dedication to teaching shone brightly. As we prepare to welcome them at our virtual celebration in April, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to all of the partners and friends whose support contributed to such a successful recruitment cycle.
